I recently switched from using Divx 6 to Nero redcode 2 and the Nero AVC codec to back up my movies. However I am having a problem with playing back on my HTPC. I encode in Nero Recode using the meximum definition profile, 5.1 audio, 2 pass, and maximum quality. When I try to play the files back I have some issues. In windows media player there is a weird blurry line on the bottom on the video. Otherwise everything is fine (I get 5.1 audio perfectly via the digital optical output to my receiver). When I switch and try to play back the video in Nero Showtime the line on the bottom disapears and everything works fine as long as I use stardard stero in the Showtime audio menus. When I go in the menus and enable SPDIF output as the means of audio, the video looks like it is in slow motion showing only a few frames every second and the audio does not play. The audio is passed over in optical cable in both cases it is a matter of passing PCM or AC3 depending on if I am using Stero or SPDIF option. Has anyone encountered this and what should I do to correct these errors. NOTE: CPU usage does not increase at all when using SPDIF vs standard stero option in Nero Showtime.
