I have created a small download mirror for ripit4me, it would be a shame if it disappears.

what about SmartRipper... I still have the two latest releases including the changelog (SmartRipper v2.40 + v2.41) - unfortunately I don't have the source code anymore of SmartRipper but maybe someone else does have the source code or is able to reverse engineer SmartRipper...

for SmartRipper I think ASPI is needed... just in case you should point to it or host ASPI on your server...

here you'll find the ASPI driver (http://www.adaptec.com/en-US/support/scsi_soft/ASPI/ASPI-4.70/)

I recieved a serious warning from company x and company y.
I had 48 hours to delete the site and remove the software from my server. I am just a regular guy and will be no match against major company's. Maybe they just wanted to scare me, but I am not taking the risk, better be save then sorry.

The site was gaining a lot of hits and some person must be monitoring this forum and discovered my site, and took action.

I did had a disclaimer on the site, but that didnt help much...

So its offline for good....

Google and usenet are great alternative ways to obtain these programs.

Better luck next time....well there wont be a next time ;)

I totally agree.

It's best to keep things like this quiet and exchange software from person a to b. Then its so smallscale they wouldnt be bothered to stick their nose in to it. All i know, next time i think twice about what I post here (must be legal) and what I host on a website.

I am going to re-open the site soon in the future but only with tools that dont crack the protection, and other legal usefull tools.

Yes, 111 times for FixVTS and 66 for RipIt4Me. Remember the download for RipIt4Me on FileForum works completely well. I also informed a site which hosted an old copy to get the new one.

The one on GigaSize is still going strong: http://www.gigasize.com/get.php/1101299/RipIt4Me.zip. There is also the source for FixVTS (http://www.gigasize.com/get.php/1189929/FixVTSSource1.603.zip) on there.
I don't even see a download link in that second URL. If someone can mirror it at a more accessible location, I'll throw up a copy on my server too.

Just remember, the safest and surest approach (due to the fact that some DVDs may have "autorun" files) is to:

FIRST start RipIt4Me - and select either "Wizard" mode or "One-click" mode and

THEN load the DVD...

Anyone who inserts any commercially produced optical media into a computer that does not have autorun disabled completely for all optical drives is just cruising for trouble. The likes of Sony, et al are not to be trusted running loose in your computer - ever.

Well I have used the program and have the program but since I will only be using it occasionally, the full help file would be nice to have.
But as long as I remember to start the program first and I shouldn't have a problem.

I will try to copy the guide and save it.

You should disable autorun in the registry on XP.

Run the Registry Editor (REGEDIT.EXE).
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdrom.
Double-click the Autorun value, and type 0 for its value. (If it's not there, create it by selecting Edit -> New -> DWORD Value, and typing "Autorun" for its name.)
You may have to log out and then log back in for this change to take effect.

if someone wouldnt mind sending me a pm .. i am new and while i have rp4 and imgbrn dvdshrnk dvdregionfree dvddecrpt nero 7

i do not have fixvts or have i turned of the autorun ... i do have a firewall up that i use to block web access attempts from auto run

so i am a novice at this and could use some experianced adivise ... i have noticed recently that most people are suggesting that advice be given in a more secure/private setting so please PM if you can help
