VFAPI + Vista = Black video

Not entirely sure if this is the right forum, but anyway...

I recently installed Vista x64 and now I'm trying to feed fake AVIs created with VFAPIConv to Vegas. On XP this used to work flawlessly, but now when I open the small AVI in VirtualDub I get black video. Frame count is correct though.

My DGMPGDec version is 1.4.8. Vdub file information says:
FourCC code: vifp / Virtual Frame API (VFAPI)
Decompressor: VFAPI Reader Codec 1.05

I installed VFAPIConv with the following batch file ran as administrator:
c:\windows\syswow64\rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection C:\Program Files (x86)\VFAPI\vifp.inf,DefaultInstall

I regret that I do not have Vista so I'm unable to help you at this time.

I expect it would be to do with some part of Vista vast content protection.
