...in the May 2007 issue on page 27 under the headline "Cat and Mouse Copy Protection".

It talks about HD-DVD and Blu-Ray decryption. Here's the quote.

..."If you want to keep up with day-to-day happenings in the HD scene, visit www.boingboing.net and www.doom9.org. Boing Boing delivers news on major cracks and the political fallout, while the folks at doom9 focus on the action end of the news -- if you get our drift. If you choose to participate in the doom9 community, make sure you read and follow the rules!"

I can't recall doom9 ever being mentioned in Maximum PC before. Looks like a first this time. They even talk about using the X-box drive to decrypt discs. They seem to be a little behind on the info though. No mention of Geremia's hack at all.

It's a real shame that Doom9 only gets mentioned in negative contexts. What about all the wonderful Avisynth plugins that have been developed over the years on these forums? Nobody ever talks about those.

Then again, I'm sure doom9 (the person, I mean) is sleeping better knowing the hordes of incoming lemmings have been told to read the rules ;-)

Yeah, that's actually quite nice of them. And no defamatory remarks either. But imagine they'd pant us as the good guys.. soon we'd take over the world :)
