I have a homemade DVD with menus and 6 film tracks. The sound is a bit noisy and the volume is too low. Is it possible to extract the sound tracks, denoise and normalize them and reinsert them into the DVD VOB files without touching the menus ?

And is it possible to add subtitles to it without changing the DVD menu structure ? The subtitles would only be activated with the remote control.

You can do ALL with DVDReauthor and Sonic Scenarist

Too tough as I do not own neither Scenarist, nor DVDReauthor. But, for this DVD I will try to reauthor with DVDShrink reauthor feature and redo all the menu links. The menu structure in this DVD is not that complex. I will also have the chance to add subtitles.
Thanks a lot for your suggestion. I did not know of DVDreauthor.

You can extract all streams (and the celltimes info) of the movie with PgcDemux, modify the audiotrack and have the chance to add a subtitle stream when you mux all streams back with MuxMan.

If you finally replace the modified movies with VobBlanker, you don't need to change the menu structure.

goonix,
I found a guide at videohelp with exactly the same description as yours. It is a bit complicated and prone to too many errors, but there is a way !
Thanks for the info.

DVDReauthor is SIMPLY utility for demuxing DVD-VIDEO disks back to source files, and for generation Sonic Scenarist 2.x or 3.x script files. After Reauthor's work you can do in Scenarist ALL with your project - add/remove menus, add videos, subs, audio etc...

Demux using PGCdemux, do whatever processing you need to do and then remux using Muxman.

IMO, this is the most reliable method.
