Not responding

Why do all encoding programs that i run stop responding halfway through. even when i increase their priority to high i still face the same problem. Ive been trying to convert this Avi file to mpeg 2 for a long time and ive tried 5 diffirent programs all of which stop responding.

has anyone had a similar problem?

1) It may be that your system is overheating

2) It may be that your .AVI is flawed. Please load the .AVI into GSpot and post a screencapture back here
