Can the 360 HDDVD read the HD Digital Video Essentials Disc?

I've heard the 360 drive can't read dual discs that are both DVD and HD-DVD and that's what the DVE disc is supposed to be.

Is this true that it won't work?

Not true the Xbox HD DVD drive is capable of reading combo discs.
