Anyone heard anything good or bad about www.foobar2000.com ??
It seems to support AAC and most players do not (w/o a plugin)
I was gonna give it a try........

Well, for one you should visit hydrogenaudio instead, but I'd refrain from posting this question unless you feel like getting banned. There are hundreds (thousands?) of faqs, forum threads, comparisons to other media players, flamewars, and so on that you could quickly find on google if you're really interested, since it's so popular.
By the way, what's the difference between supporting a format purely internally versus with a first-party plugin, in your opinion?
Edit: By the way, you should update your title since you're only talking about foobar, not media players in general.

I believe she meant that the HydrogenAudio forum staff was quite quick at banning people, especially with questions such as yours here...
Myself, I use Foobar2000 for all my audio playing needs (except for audio CDs) and am quite happy with it's versatility. But it's not a full fledged media player (IMHO thank $DEITY, since I really don't need another WinAmp debacle), but "only" an audio player - but a great one at that.
np: Radiohead - Fake Plastic Trees (The Bends)
(In foobar2000, coincidentally... :D)

Yes, apologies for the confusing grammar, I meant if you post this thread there. The other thing they're very quick to come down on is any sort of "x sounds better than y" or "does x sound better than y?" without full abx logs. But the forums and wiki are quite helpful, they have lots of info on dozens of media players.
Personally, I like foobar's columns_ui (barring some quirks) and love the format converter, but don't really care for the way its library & playlists work compared to winamp. Both are excellent players imho.
