Hi All

I've ripped a dvd to my HDD & have converted the video to divx using AVisynth & VirtualDub. No problems at all.

I've ripped the audio from the dvd (with DVD decryter in IFO mode) and have the ac3 file. Once i endcode the ac3 to mp3 (using headac3he) and mux it with the divx in nandub, the sound is out of sync towards the end of the movie.

I decided to go back to the source and muxed the divx w ac3 but I get the same result.

Audio files play fine in winamp/wmp.

Any ideas what the problem could be? The audio file & divx file are exact same length as reported by nandub/vd (Frame rate =29.97). I haven't downsampled the audio at all. In headac3he i've tried going ac3 to ABR, CBR & WAV but still it's out. Given that i get the same sync issue w the ac3 file, i figure i must be doing something wrong w the ripping...

Cheers

EDIT!

on further inspection, i think the sync problem may be due to the video. comparing the vob source in VD w the compressed divx, the frames are different i.e. frame 10,004 (5:33.800) on the source = frame 10,010 (5:34.001) on the divx version.

i should also add that the source is NTSC - i therefore think that this could have something todo w the interlacing, telecine etc which is new territory to me (my xp w is pal vid capture).
