need help with new filter prefixes

im not the best when it comes to all this technical backing up business so could someone explain this new feature a little bit more

- Added an additional "M:" filter prefix. If the "M:" is
present the filter line will only be added when
a segment associated with a menu.
etc. If the extras on a DVD are a bit pixelated you can use a filter. But you don't want to use the filter on the WHOLE disc. So you add the E: line to the filter. This will apply it only to the extras and not the feature (f:) or menu (m:).
