need capture utility recommendation for canon hv20!? (24p or 60i mode)

Hello!
I just picked up a Canon HV20... and I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for capture utilities (either mac or pc, I have both) that can be used to capture video from it?

especially 24p workflows!
also is there different software that's better for 1080i mode vs. 24p mode?

Well, the HV20 is an HDV camera that has an HDMI port, so you have essentially two options:

1) Connect via FireWire, and capture the HDV though Premiere, or any other application that supports HDV capture. A good open source alternative is HDVSplit. Search for this. It will produce M2Ts, that are easily indexable with DGIndex, for integration into an AviSynth workflow :D This makes pulldown removal very easy(telecide/decimate or tfm/tdecimate), and Premiere supports direct reading of AviSynth scripts through a 3rd party plugin.

2) Connect via HDMI to a BlackMagic Intensity (http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/intensity/), which will give you uncompressed output, assuming you are shooting live. Capturing the contents of your tape through HDMI will give you no better image than straight HDV capture through FireWire. So you have to be tethered to a monster PC with a 3-4 drive RAID-0 while shooting, but you get uncompressed out, which is awesome :D
