Hello there.

I am working with some 3 mpg files from someone. They are HD files with the resolution of 1440*1080.

The thing is I can play them with no problems but I can't seem to convert them to anything else. My goal is to author a DVD using TMPGenc and DVD Maestro as I use these 2 for years with no problems. I have Pinnacle 10.6, Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 and dozens of other small video coverters but none of them seem to be able to import/edit those files. For movie file info I use a program named AviCodec ... but when asking for info on these files he's telling me UNKNOWN VIDEO CODEC or NVIDIA CODEC and that's it. It is also mentionable that I have nVidia Pure Decoder installed. I have tried some codec packs liek Core2K.Media and Ace Mega Codecpack, the latest FFDSHOW... I still get errors from programs when trying to import/edit/convert those files. Virtual Dub won't open them and TMPGenc after judging the field order is showing me blank screen where I should see some image.

Maybe I completely mixed everything up by installing so many codecs and codec packs but I was desperate and nothing seems to work.

Any ideeas ? How can I know what codec was used to encode those files ( cause the guy can't tell me as he's a noob ).

This is pretty urgent. Thanks

What does GSpot say?

Are these movies or what?

You can take a look yourself for that matter :

download this :
[link removed] ( it's a 3.5GB file and it's ADULT CONTENT !!!! - Use Save Target As ... :D )

Well GSPOT sais unknown file ... It was filmed with a Sony HD camera and the file format is .MPG ... I know nothing more except this ( the guy with the files told just it was a HD Sony Camera ) ... I found only one program that would convert it into .mp4 files so I can use them in Pinnacle Studio 10 and that's YASA VIDEO CONVERTER ... but the Video/Audio are out of sync ... I have tried everything ( 44.1, 48 Khz, NTSC/PAL ... you name it ) nothing works properly.

You guys must have any ideeas. There must be a Sony Codec used here which I don't have ... I don't know.

PS. this is what I am getting from YASA about these movies : Summary:

File: E:\DVD DL Project !!!\LS_2.mpg
Format: mpegts/MPEG2 transport stream format
Duration: N/A
Bitrate: 25384 kb/s

Video:

Codec: mpeg2video
Size: 1440x1080
Frame Rate: 25.00 fps
Bitrate: 25000 kb/s

Audio:

Codec: mp2
Sample Rate:48000 Hz
Channel: stereo
Bitrate: 384 kb/s

Might help you guys figure something out. Please download the file ( adult ) and see if you can work something out with it ... there are 2 more files ... same format that I need to turn into a DVD. I have all the menus ready etc ...
