Weird Size problem

Just wanted to post a problem which I have had only once before and occurered again which trying to rip The Emperor's New Groove DVD.
I use Doom9's guide to SBC ripping with the only exception being the following.
While using Nandub, I calculate the bit rate and for this movie, I set it to 2 700meg CDs so the final file will be approximately 1.3-1.4gig in size.
The bit rate it calculated was approximately 2400. At this point, in the actual settings, I change the high pass to the actual bit rate figure, and make the low pass, around 360 to 400. I leave all other options as is, and I have had no problems whatsoever in all my previous rips. However, after the all night encoding session, I woke up to see theat the final file size was around 580meg +100 or so for the audio when I added it. Any ideas as to why this occurs?
It happened once before with the movie Finding Forrester. Any help would be appreciated.
While I'm here I might as well post this question as well. I've tried to use xMpeg 4.2a but I get a problem something along the lines of it can not read the log file or something. I remember reading a post a while back which says, installDivX3.11, then the other DivX4.12 and then the radium codec to fix this problem. I did that but still no luck.

you misunderstood the meaning of high/low pass. highpass is a bottom limit and low pass is a top limit. read the guide carefully.

Switch that around (high pass for low pass)- like I said, I've got perfect 2 CD rips before. It's just this time that this has occured along with once before with Finding Forrester

i should really aim for 1cd @ 1200 kbs.
Or if u really want to stick with 2cd's increase resolution and perhaps better sound (u didnt really give much details so i dont know what quality u have now...)
Set low/high pass to 300/4000 kbs

emperor's new groove is really compressible. I had to fight to get it onto 1 CD (get it large enough to fill the CD).

hmmm..
thanks for that fellas. well - that may explain it. If the movie is really compressible than that may be the reason why. The movie itself, I feel looks pretty good. The final video data rate turned out to be 151kbps. I also used 160kbps mp3 sound and the resoltuion was : 576 X 328.
But I would have thought that becasue I set it to 2 CDs, the video data rate would have been much higher - closer and above 200kbps.
