Hi everyone. I apologize in advance if this has been asked before. I've tried using search on this particular subject, but its hard to think of the right keywords for my answer. I'm pretty n00b at search, so don't laugh at me :eek: I'm gonna try and be as thorough as possible.
Is there a way to encode multiple sections of a stream in one process? In the past, I used XviD with VirtualDubMod, where you could encode specific sections of a clip via PgUp (start selection) and PgDn (end selection).
This came in handy for DVDs with 4-5 episodes in one stream, as it kept the file sizes consistent. Before that, I tried encoding a video all at once and splitting it later. However, it resulted inconsistent sizes, as some episodes probably received more bitrates than others. I used to have about 8-10 jobs prepped up on a job list at once for DVDs with multiple episodes (2 passes=2 jobs for each episode).
Since I've made the jump to x264, I learned that it wasnt officially supporting vfw (where I can use tools such as VirtualDub), so I had to make use of tools like MeGUI which I've had the pleasure of using so far. However, I can't seem to find a way to accomplish this specific task using MeGUI.
So to summarize everything, is there a way to encode sections of a video using MeGUI? I don't really care of it can't be done all in one round. Just as long as I can encode from a specified start and end time of a video, that will be enough to achieve my goal. Thanks!
