I have about 200 movies and about 600 episodes in avi format; they're mixed divx and xvid with mixed encoder options and of varying quality. I want to do two things to them:
1) I want to fix the generally low quality by running them all through some basic filters (I'll probably use the same across the board) like temporalsmooth and levels. At the same time, I want them to all be of the same matrix type, filetype, filesize, and relevant options -- including pixel width (640). I'm hoping for an acceptable quality for TV watching (sent from comp, not standalone).
2) I want to make them iPod compatible (not really as important, but I might as well).
My main question is: is there a fast way to do this? Is there a way to set up megui for batches of files? Is there a way to get the one-click encoder to accept avis? I would love to be able to just drag in 200 files for the same encoding options and avs script and let them go! I'm doubting that's possible, so what's my best bet?
A side question is: other than temporalsmooth and and levels, does anyone have any good plugin ideas? I prefer something I can let run without having to retweak it for every file. A subtle deblocker would probably be better than anything else. How effective is the x264 in-loop deblocker for moderately blocky avi input?
