muxed .mp4 problems [Archive]

I encoded a video in x.264 with aac audio using megui. When I try to mux the raw .264 with the .aac audio I end up with an .mp4 that is prefixed with out_ and and extra file called mymovie_rtp.xml. The out_mymovie.mp4 is unplayable. I have tried re-muxing this several times. I have encoded 100s of movies using megui and have never seen this before. Any ideas what is happening?

If it is large, make sure you have enough free space on the drive where the file named out_... is being created. Seems similar to the issue I had...

Yea I have more than enough space on the partition where the movie AND mp4box.exe are located.

... but try if the file is FULLY seekable, as I was able to mux it in Yamb, but it wasn't seekable after the first half...

I'm having this issue as well, I have plenty of hard drive space, and it's currently only happening with three .264 files, I can mux any other files without incident. Using YAMB or MeGUI to mux these video files with aac audio files always takes substantially longer than normal and creates an unplayable mp4 file prefixed with "out_". I have tried reencoding the files from dvd but end up with the same result, it must have something to do with the original file in some way. This occurs using mp4box version 0.4.4. Using version 0.4.5 results in a windows error near the end of the file writing process "MP4Box.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Have you tried

1) Muxing just the video
2) Muxing into mkv then mp4

To see what happens?

Otherwise maybe encoding to mkv/mp4 with x264 in the first place rather than raw.

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah, I've muxed just the video, and it works most of the time, however when I try to mux with audio using the video from the newly muxed file, I get the same result. Also for some reason muxing to a mk4 gives no error message but the process takes less than a second and produces no output file.

When using MeGui to encode the video it has been creating mp4 files, I don't exactly know how to get it to simply output to raw .264. Additionally I've successfully extracted the .264 file from the mp4 using YAMB, but still muxing the raw .264 file with video results in the error.

I had this problem, turned out some of my output filenames were too long. Try using a shorter output filename and then renaming to what you actually want it to be after the mux.
