Error message with mencoder...

Hi everyone,

I got an AVI File thats playing perfectly (sound and picture) with the VLC Player, it plays with picture but no sound using windows mediaplayer and plays sound only using Mplayer.

I tried to convert the avi file using mencoder and got this error message:


Opening video decoder: [dmo] DMO video codecs
ERROR: Could not open required DirectShow codec wmv9dmod.dll.
IMediaObject ERROR: 00B459E0 could not open DMO DLL (0x0 : 0)
Failed to create DMO filter
You need to upgrade/install the binary codecs package.

I quite new to video encoding so i think maybe there is a codec missing or is it something else. I really need to convert it so its playing on my pocket pc. Any solutions?

What video and audio codecs did you use to create the .AVI?

Load the .AVI into GSpot and post a screencapture back here...

AAC codec was massing. Got it now - but still Mencoder doesnt seem to support. :(
