According to other postings in [7], the update to PowerDVD was foreseen as early as 2007-03-18. It appears new releases of discs would have some encryption change starting in 2007-04-01. The reaction time of the industry seems to be around 3 months to make a decision, and another month to release updated PC software, and yet another month for latest pressings of discs.
Let me know if you have more time points, I would be interested in the Blu-Ray story, other types of keys found, the title of the first movie decrypted, and the first release to retail of hd/bluray discs.
The wikipedia article is slightly flawed, relying only on the doom9 postings from muslix64 rather than his own history posting.

The use is historical reference, to media and encyclopedia, doom9 public relations, before original references disappear. This site gets references often by media. As this forum being the originator of such news, it is ideal that we should make some attempt to accurately portray ourselves (not that I speak for the community in any way).
Remember how "DVD Jon" was represented -- long live "HD Muslix"! :)

yeah, there certainly needs to be a few more points on that line for where arnezami found the volumeID via sniffing, then the processing key, then finally the device and host private keys for powerDVD (with perhaps a mention that slysoft were using these keys all along). then there's the work that's been done over the last weeks in device hacking that promises to open up loads of new exploits.

Brief timeline, indeed. In recent years, I can't even tell if the Blu-ray people are even making attempts to re-secure their disks.

What do you mean by re-secure?
The blu-ray standard is continuously changing and new ways of protecting the content are developed and put into practice, just have a look on AnyDVD and DVDFab logs if you don't have access to other sources :)
