PS3 capture major de-interlace help needed (example link)

I gotta show this footage to around 4000 people soon ><, but i cant manage to get this footage to a stage where its able to be shown.

I've tried working with different de-interlacing / telecide methods, but i can not get this footage cleaned up.

Its a 5mb xvid (compressed to due bandwidth), but the original is a MPEG2.

It was captured through composite video, from a PS3.
Any help in making this footage viewable would be greatly appreciated!

please post an unprocessed sample... i can't tell from looking at this one whether you're SOL or not.

my initial guess is the footage was NTSC, but the capture program was set to progressive PAL and has completely bollocked the video. if this is the case, you'll have to recapture it and check your settings carefully.

playing back interlaced content over a projector shouldn't be a problem, but it depends on how it's being done. if you author a DVD of this footage then between the DVD player and the projector the interlace will be taken care of.

The PS3 is in PAL.
I tried to record under different settings, this one just turned out the 'best', so to speak.

ugh, okay. there's something funky happening in the capture, because i'd wager the ps3 doesn't look like that on a TV.

what sort of capture hardware do you have there? what software are you using to get it from the cap card? there's resize and possibly deinterlace going on there that shouldn't be happening. there's no filter that can get a good picture out of that mess.

try reading through the video capture forums here to find out what you can do with this.

Im using a DVico DVB-T .
Im just using their standard recording software that they made, 'Fusion HDTV'. I feel its a pretty limited program in terms of recording options, but i can't really find one that works.

@ dimix: your card probably works in directshow, so you should be able to use a newer virtualdub to capture from without any processing from the software. make sure you have the latest virtualdub, as i'm not sure at what point it started supporting directshow for capture.

you could also use VLC in the same way.
