Hello, I just converted a DVD to Xvid, and I used VBR MP3. I used AutoGK for the job.

Unlucky me, I forgot to check the output before deleting the original DVD-files, and now I'm stuck with a movie out of sync.

How do i correct audio that constantly delays more and more in a xvid/vbr?
In VirtualDub, I've found audio skew correction of -5000ms but it only works correctly in start of movie. After a while it's just going out of sync again :-(.

Anybody know how to use vdub to fix this?

Change the framerate to match the audio duration. It's not something you should need to do, but.... If that doesn't quite work, you need to calculate both the constant offset, if any, and the skew factor, and change both manually.

how is the audio stream saved? is it 2 channel or more?

if only two channel, then i would unpack it to an uncompressed wave, then load that file back into vdub and use the advanced filters (input-stretch-output) to manually line up the sound. if things still don't line up, you may need to mess with the audio interleaving, but things are gonna get tricky there.

save the file doing a direct stream copy with the video, and compress the audio however you want.
