Is it OK to put different types of audio streams into an MKV video file?

Specifically, I want to leave the main AC3 stream intact, and rencode the other ones.

I muxed it up and it seems to work fine, I was just wondering if there was any potential conflicts.

I muxed it up and it seems to work fine, I was just wondering if there was any potential conflicts.You can mix different types of audio streams in a MKV file. You can for example have a english DTS track and a AC3 track in some other language in the same MKV file.
