View Full Version : VHS Copy Protection when backing up to DVD

Good morning,

I have a collection of Laurel & Hardy VHS videos that I want to backup to DVD, but my Panasonic recorder switches itself off a few seconds after I start the tapes due to the copy protection.

Where do i even START to try to get around this problem?
Sorry if this is ultra newbie level, but any help would be appreciated.

(This is the analog video security method used with commercial VHS.)

Get a capture card/device that doesn't care about video signal corruption.

Hauppauge comes to mind :)
