View Full Version : Premiere 6.0 - audio clicking problem

I have problems with audio mixing in old Premiere 6.0 that I still use due to limitation pf PC on which I currently edit.
Problem manifests with clickng in adio during playback and even in exported file (it is not present only in timeline mode as a problem due to realtime processing on slow CPU). Also, clicking occurs sometimes at the places between audio clips (which I can solve by manual "dissolving" audio with volume adjusting) and sometimes even during playback of some part of audio - which I can't solve (without postprocessing of mixed audio in some other audio editor and manually removing clicks which is verry annoying and hard job :( )!
The strangest thing is that audio works fine in preview window in premiere (when I open it in standalone window by doubleclick) but playing the same clip on timeline and resulting WAV (or in AVI) after exporting, produce clicking?! This occurs even on a clean WAV placed on a timeline without any filters - playing file on timeline produce clicks, in preview window file plays fine?! Happens on some audio clips but it is not depended on anything ( I tested different frequency, samplerate, WAV, MP3... anything - it just happens on some clips and on some not no matter which format and paremetters they are)

Anybody knows how to solve this?

I just located source of problem! This occurs when volume is changed! Actually, on keyfames (volume rubberband) with volume changes in a clip or between clips with a different volume!

Still don't know how to solve this because I need to change volume within one audio clip several times - and that produce pop/click noise between each keyframe with volume change! :(

I remixed sound entirely in 2.0... Lot of work - but I have another problem - now audio sonds great on PC - strong deep bass, clear audio... but on TV and my 5.1 surround, it is full of clipping, distortion and unbalanced loudness!?!
Since now I never had problems with sound - everything was OK in other videos I made - but this one gives me tons of problems :(
Anybody knows how to balance audio to sound clear on TV and 5.1 and on PC (where is already OK via headphones and excternal speakers)? I simply can't figure out why this happens because in old videos I edited, sond was OK everywhere. Now I have mess everywhere except on PC :(((

Meters in Premiere does not show clipping or any other anomaly... everything looks and sounds great - only on PC... :(
