Hey guys, When backing up DVD's sometimes everything goes great and other times when they are played back I get pixelaxtion and or stops..etc. Is this from buring at full speed, doing other things whil encoding and/or burning etc? How can I make sure I get a perfect back up? -IS they're any tools out there that can look through a video file or *.vob and see if there is any errors or damage?
I am not using bargain basement media. Philips DVD-R 1-16X
Using the GSA-4167B I am using DL13 -as far as I know...
PLease tell me if there is any tools to use to help or?

Thx for any help you guys can give me...

Hi!

1) Burn at lower than maximum speed
2) If possible, avoid multitasking while burning
3) Try Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden ("T-Y") burnable media
4) Play the original DVD - to make sure that IT doesn't display the same symptoms

Yeah, that's what I figured. The media seems fine.
I will try out that media.
Is there any applications out there that can verify my HD image?
when would I damage in image when encoding or when burning?
I have images in my HD right now and was wondering if they are damaged..

(My attempt at humor)Is there any applications out there that can verify my HD image?The only meaningful verification regarding pixelization and/or momentary pauses would be, as I mentioned earlier, to PLAY the image (If ISO, use VLC player) and apply your eyes to viewing ;>}

You may also have a hardware issue - the incorrect transfer of data to hard drive can cause corruptions in the video. Try to save a few hard drive rips, and when you watch a backup disk and find the video errors, check to see if the rip has the same problem.

@CWR03

Your suggestion is essentially the same as already stated in post #4 here...

I must've missed the "image" part - I misread that you were recommending he view the burned disks.
