Is TCMP under development? Problem with embedded .srt in mkv

Hello there. I am using TCMP for many years and generally I am very satisfied with it. I see though that the development is very slow, at least in regard to long-waited version 5. Can someone tell me if this project is going to be released some day? If yes, when?

Also I would like to ask you about a very annoying bug. I was hoping that this problem would be fixed in version 4.11, but it didn't. It's the well known problem with embedded .srt subtitles in matroska container. When I open such a file, TCMP reports: "Some of the streams in this movie are in an unsupported format" and no subtitles of course. I thought that maybe the advanced haali media splitter would solve it, but I saw that I am still having the same problem (like I had when I was using Gabest's splitter). So I think that it's not a splitter problem, since the subtitles are correctly detected in the "Media Stream" list. Additionally, the same .mkv file opens and plays normally both in VLC and MPC. Of course when the .srt file is external, everything works fine in TCMP.

So is there any workaround for that problem, except from installing the VSFilter? I don't want to load an external filter for handling a subtitles format which is internally supported by TCMP. Thanks.

PS: I have read this relevant discussion, but it doesn't report a real solution.

Hi all. Joseph5, I think that you didn't read my second PS. I would be frivolous if I had asked here (first) instead of the player's forum.

In general, the "support" in CoreCodec is deplorable. I see that the replies in the forum (and in e-mails also) are rare and I had a very bad experience with CoreAVC too. I think that the CoreCodec's developers are working only for commercial software and do not care for answers or development of TCMP. I also think that they should open-source TCMP, otherwise this project is already history.

Amour, I had read your post about active players, but I thought that this was just your estimation, based on the latest release of each player. I was hoping that the TCMP would be still alive, but it seems that is definitively dead. Anyway, with so many good media players around, maybe is futile to develop another one...

I didn't say discontinued. I said non-active. What I feel is a shame is that few actively developped players have good skin.
