Hi!

Perhaps you need some assistance in re-ripping your original DVD.

1) What is the Title and Region of the DVD?

2) What software and procedures did you use to originally rip it to your hard drive?

3) Please post a screencapture of the file listing in the original DVD's "VIDEO_TS" folder

4) Did your initial rip play properly on your PC from your hardrive?

5) Does your original DVD play properly on your PC?

bup files are just copies of ifo files having the same name. You can either use the cli copy command or windows explorer to make new ones.
The cli copy command is the quickest if you are familiar with MS-DOS Prompt. Unfortunately Windows Explorer doesn't let you copy and rename at the same time, so you have to copy and paste into another folder, change the file extension to bup using rename, then cut and paste the file back into the original folder

Firstly, this is way off topic and has little to do with advanced DVD authoring. Secondly, if you "don't have the source", I can only assume that you are illegally copying a disc. Piracy is not tolerated on these forums. Struck for Rule #6.
