Nero Digital AVC and Resize

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone has encountered this problem with Nero Recode (using latest version 7.8.5.0).

Basically, I choose my options:

Then click on Video, and click disabled:

And then I hit Ok. When I go back in, its back to either Automatic or Custom:

Basically the Disabled option is not sticking.

I am using Vista 32bit, and this is a clean install. I was having the problem with the prior Vista, but I had so much crap installed, I wanted to make sure it wasn't a problem.

Note that this problem does not occur when choosing Nero Digital (non-AVC).

Any thoughts?

Same here in 30% cases (btw I always import avisynth script). Then I close application and load it again, and problem disappear and sometimes not.
Could Nero add custom PAR to this options for anamorphic encodes?! (I must use mp4box cli to achieve that)
And it's very annoying when I choose "Disable" but not able to check "Letterboxing (square pxel)".

First of all, sorry, I didnt see the MPEG4 AVC forum. If someone wants to move this down one, that'd be fine.

Anyway, thanks for the reply. At least I know its not me. I am able to work around the problem by:

1. Import DVD
2. Choose Nero Digital, click Video and set Resize tab to Disabled. Click Ok. *Click on Video again and make sure its still set to Disabled.* Don't move on until it does.
3. Now choose Nero Digital AVC, the approriate Profile and bitrate/audio options, then, Without clicking on the Video tab, Hit next and do the encoding.

It appears that the act of clicking the Video button is what resets Resize back to Auto or Custom.

That seems to be working for me most of the time.

I do really like Nero and want to use it, but boy are there some annoying bugs. I found another one where the first 30 seconds or so of the video has bits rates down to 16k. So the studio logos, or whatever is at the beginning, look absolutely terrible. This appears completely at random. Even sometimes just clicking on Burn again to reencode the same file will make the problem go away.

Oh, and it would sure be nice not to have to set the same damn parameters, like tabs in Video, profiles, etc, every time I run the program. Would be nice to just start it up, choose my DVD, and click burn. Or is there a way to do that that I don't know about?

Is it possible to add "bits per pixel"....I find that more reliable than guessing what bitrate should I apply for which resolution and fps.
