View Full Version : DGDecode/DGIndex mismatch error

I just purchased and downloaded 1.23.2 Pro last night and tried a backup of Sneakers using CCE 2.70. The only change I made to the install was dropping in the latest version of DGDecode.dll which was v1.49beta14 (linked from jdobbs.net).
My encode went much faster than usual and the resulting DVD was only about 1 GB with the original sound and a generic video with the mismatch error (I also had a few 'possible dropped frame' errors in the log during rebuild). I made sure I had no other versions of DGDecode.dll laying around as the message indicated. I did not.
After reading this thread - http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=100579&highlight=mismatch+dgindex
I have a suspicion that DVDRB is not compatible with all versions of DGDecode.dll.
So my question is, is this the source of the error? If so, what is the latest version of DGDecode.dll that DVDRB is compatible with, 1.48? Or should I just stick to the one that is packaged with DVDRB (1.45 I think)?
Thanks for the help and a great program!

You have to use the version of DGDECODE that is provided with DVD-RB. The format has changed. You can have both versions on your system -- but DVD-RB must be pointed to DGDECODE v1.4.5.
The jdobbs.net site just has a link that forwards you to Neuron2's DGDECODE web site -- the new version isn't actually resident on that site (as is the source code and binary versions of v1.4.5).
The encode went faster because it was just encoding the error messages rather than the video.

DVD-RB Pro will work with either DGDecode.dll 1.10 or 1.45. The formats for ver's after 1.45 have changed.
Edit: To slow.... Damm jdobbs :)

Good point. I forgot to mention v1.10, as it was the first version used with DVD-RB and remains for downward compatibility.

Thanks for the quick reply to clear that up! Perhaps a note to that effect under the link to Neuron2's site to warn users would be a good thing. Thanks again!

@jdobbs, is MPEG2Dec3dg.dll still compatible with DVD-RB Pro.... just info my info.
Edit: I remember way back before pro was around and before ver 1.10 (around DVD-RB ver .20, my first ver of Rebuilder) MPEG2Dec3dg.dll worked....well it was the only thing to use

Yes. But I wouldn't recommend it, as there have been a lot of updates since then. The main reason I still mention v1.10 is because that's the format the NaN version uses.

Agreed, just wanted to know for my own knowledge if it still worked. :thanks:

unfortunately tho NaN's later version doesn't seem to work. I get audio sync problems so went back to the one that came with DVD-RB Pro. Slower but it works :)

I use the NaN version (1.1.1.0, I think) with the latest DVD RB pro, and it's never given me any issues.
I originally opted for the NaN version because of the Colormatrix thing, but nowadays I never use ColorMatrix, so I guess I might as well switch back to Neuron2's version.
Was there something about Neuron2's being slower, tho?

I found NaN's v1.1.1 caused audio sync problems when outputting to the new MOBILE format.
It worked fine with normal DVD output tho.
cheers

You have to use DGDECODE with the MOBILE option. There was no "RAW" mode in the older versions.
