Hello,
I have been closely monitoring this forum since I found it a week ago and hope that someone here will be able to help me with the issues I am experiencing.
In a nutshell:
I have a series of one minute videos that are Maya animations where the original source is uncompressed RGB. They are immaculate when played back in VLC media player.
When I compress them using MeGUI it get unacceptable levels of banding in gradient stills that have motion graphics on them. Content is 1280 x 720 30p @ approx 4 gigs a minute.
It seems like the more bandwidth I use the more apparent the banding becomes. I have used all the custom matrices found on Doom9 with little to no improvement.
The still gradients and fade to black sections really are the only area where there seems to be a problem.
File size is not an issue, I'm just not sure where to go from here.
Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
