View Full Version : Casino Royale audio sync issue

I did a search but didn't come up with anything helpful.

I re-encoded Casino Royale (Region 1) with DVD Rebuilder 1.23.2 and AnyDVD 6.1.3.3. The output was for both DVD-5 and "mobile". Unfortunately, the audio lags the video by a split second, but it's definately noticeable.

Has anybody else noticed this?

AnyDVD was not set to jump straight to the menu or movie. It was only set to limit the drive speed to "medium".

You should remove the tiny cells at the beginning of the title, or rip with RipIt4Me (in movie only mode). There's an explanation about audio sync issues and the issues that DGIndex has with them in the RipIt4Me help file (section 3.2.1).

AnyDVD doesn't seem to handle this movie correct. I had the same problem with that movie and AnyDVD.... like blutach said, I rip it with RipIt4Me and it worked fine. I ripped it with RipIt4Me 1.7.1.0 beta ripped the whole disc and opened RipIt4Me first before putting the disc in the driver. I did both a Full Disc backup with DVD-RB 1.23.1 and Movie Only... both worked fine

Does the audio lag on both the feature and the MOBILE output, or just the MOBILE? I did a backup of "Casino Royale, R1, NTSC" (ripped with AnyDVD in ISO mode) with no issues, but haven't tried MOBILE.

Does the audio lag on both the feature and the MOBILE output, or just the MOBILE?

Yup. It's the same on both.

I used AnyDVD, but I did not rip the DVD first. Instead, DVD Rebuilder worked with the files on the DVD through AnyDVD on-the-fly.

What region/format was it?

calpchen

Region 1 (as specified in my original post :) ) and NTSC.

Purchased here (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000MNP2KI/).

Hmmm.... that's the same one I did.

Maybe you used an earlier version of AnyDVD? Maybe there's a difference when ripped to hard disk first instead of being on-the-fly?

In any case, I'm going to try another run tonight except this time, I'll rip it to hard disk first using RipIt4Me (or AnyDVD itself).

I have the same problem with L.A. Confidential SE R1. Don't know why but the audio out of sync slightly very slighty.

Hmmm.... that's the same one I did.

Oh, and something else occurred to me... Did you do a Movie-only or a Movie-and-Menus backup? I did the latter.

jdobbs

That really should have no effect at all. The extras are not in the same VTS as the feature.

Just checking: the audiosync problem is in playback of the converted-and-burned DVD? Or are you using a PC player software to playback the VIDEO_TS from your hard drive?

My player software isn't perfect, but burns always are (and my backup of CR is great as well).

So I ripped with RipIt4Me (Full DVD) into a folder, then used that as the source for DVD Rebuilder. The DVD5 came out perfect (movie and menus only). However, the mobile version had audio that lagged behind the video by about 1 minute 30 seconds. Weird.

what DGDECODE are you using?

Like therat said, what DGDecode.dll ver are you using?... make sure you are using the ver that came with DVD-RB (DGDecode.dll v1.4.5) and not DGDecode.dll v1.1.0/1 by NaN... it doesn't work with mobile encodings.

I'm using DGDecode 1.4.5. I don't think I did anything funny with the DLLs. You can see all my versions in the original post.

Those of you that encoded it successfully, what settings did you use?

AnyDVD (Skip to menu?), RipIt4Me (full, movie only, movie + menus)?
DVD Rebuilder: Movie only, movie + menus, full?
DVD Rebuilder: DVD5 & Mobile, DVD5 only, Mobile only?
