I want to use FFDshow to resize the DVD resolution and Purevideo to decode the MPEG2 stream. Is that possible?

Yes. Select 'RAW video' and then 'all supported', inside the 'codecs' in the 'ffdshow video decoder configuration'. ;)

So if I use that and set the "resize" option to 1280x720 then all videos will be scaled to that resolution? Is it possible to set it on a per profile basis?
