audio on DVD

I didn't know where to post this question, so I do it here.

Is it possible to burn mp3 or audio files on a DVD and this DVD to be readable with standard hifi system or a car audio system? I guess not...only by a DVD player, right?

A lot of newer dvd players will play mp3's burned directly to dvd but if your doesn't google audiodvd creator but its not free. there are tutorials on how to do it with freeware tools but your gonna have to find them yourself.

It's not possible. The lasers in CD-audio and MP3 players cannot read the much finer tracks of a DVD.

Exactly. You need a DVD drive to play DVD media; CD hardware cannot read DVDs. There are many DVD players available allowing MP3 playback, though.
