I had a great system with DVD Decryptor, DVD Shrink, FixVTS and all the rest. I also had Nero 6 as a OEM install and it burned all DVD’s fine, which played on every machine I had. I bought a new, faster machine with (ugh) Vista Home and now none of the Nero stuff runs on it. I downloaded IMGBurn and it run and burns BUT the DVD’s will not play on my Sony Players. I tired every which way to get this right. The next thing is to buy a new HD and set up the new computer with XP Pro and dump the Vista. Any tricks to fix this mess before I spend lots of money?

Hi!the DVD’s will not play on my Sony Players1) Do the burned DVDs play on your PC?
2) Exactly what happens when you try to play a burned DVD on your SONY? What error message, if any, is displayed?
3) What brand and Manufacturer's ID ("MID") media are you using? - Try using Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden ("T-Y")
4) At what speed are you burning? - Try burning at a slower speed
5) Do burns from your previous setup NOW play on your SONY standalone players?
6) Have you checked the NERO website for questions regarding Vista compatibility?
7) What version of NERO were you running on your previous system?

Nero 7 works great on vista 32 & 64 bit.

If the ImgBurn discs won't play and you happen to be using +R media, I'd guess your drive isn't set to automatically booktype +R discs to ROM (and your standalone requires it).
For what it's worth, the discs I burn work ok in my Sony player - it must be a 'model' thing.

I've gone to Vista 64bit and Clone DVD2 works fine, even burning on the fly both from files and DVD.
