Movie = The Mexican

DVD2AVIProjectFile produced by SmartRipper v2.41

Stream_Type=1,0,0
iDCT_Algorithm=2
YUVRGB_Scale=1
Luminance=128,0
Picture_Size=0,0,0,0,0,0
Field_Operation=0
Frame_Rate=25000
Location=0,0,0,0

DVD2AVIProjectFile produced by DVD2AVI

Stream_Type=1,0,0
iDCT_Algorithm=2
YUVRGB_Scale=1
Luminance=128,0
Picture_Size=0,0,0,0,0,0
Field_Operation=0
Frame_Rate=29970
Location=0,0,7,650A

As you can see 2 different fields above and GKont behave different against the above d2v:

1) Frame_Rate value is different, SmartRipper reported the film NTSC 4:3 on-screen but it returned a PAL 25 FPS value in the d2v file. According to the pre-view screen of DVD2AVI, the film is NTSC 16:9 (this should be the correct and SmartRipper always get it wrongs for NTSC film, hope SmartRipper author can see this)

2) If I open the SmartRipper produced d2v file with GKnot, it will not able to show the IVTC option under "Save & Encode" -> "Field Operation" - although I'd manually selected "23.976" FPS under DVD2AVI -> "Open" menu and selected "NTSC" in the Resoluction -> Input Resolution.

3) I don't know what the meaning of the differents in "Location" field.

If your using a NTSC DVD then stick with DVD2AVI project file. SmartRipper doesn't seem to create the proper d2v file for NTSC but I think it does work work for PAL.

Forgot to mention, DVD2AVI preview indicated this film is Interlaced NTSC Video film type and that's why I need IVTC in GKnot.

BTW, I would like to use the GreedyHMA in the avs but GKnot alway produce the IVTC plugin of avisynth and I have to edit the script very time. If I selected "Trim Both", I can't edit the avs at all because GKnot grey out that option.

I have been using SmartRipper's d2v for pal titles lately, and can confirm that there are (seemingly) no problems with it - the exact same results appear to be produced whether I use this or dvd2avi directly.

The differences in the 'location' worries me though... Can anyone with insight on the significance of this variable explain what is happening?
