This may seem an unusual problem but please bear with me. I have a DVD of a rock concert which a work colleague wants to see but their DVD player is out of action. No problem I thought, I'll burn a copy DVD and dub it to a VHS tape using my Sharp VHS/DVD combi recorder. I made a copy disk using DVD Shrink and everything went OK - now at this point I would have assumed I now had a disk devoid of any copy protection BUT when I try to dub this copy to tape using the Sharp I get a message on the TV "Cannot copy data - C255" which according to the Sharp manual is because the source media is copy guarded. I made another copy this time running it through DVD Fab Decrypter first and then processing the resulting file with DVD Shrink, but the end result is still the same.
I am stumped as I had assumed that DVD Fab Decrypter and/or DVD Shrink would remove all traces the copy protection.
Can anyone shed some light on this please?
