Cant find much info about the matter. But i cant get it working in Vista. I get the Exception: Range check error, when its about to do the compressability check. It work fine in Xp. I have tried the uninstall and reinstall several times, but no change. Using 2.40, but tried older versions too. Same happens.

I also no work on Vista.. same problem as you there above... when you load AutoGK it appears to already be in the middle of a dub (the start button is greyed out and the Abort button is waiting to be pressed)... Well i suppose I only install AutoGK these days to make sure all my codecs are installed and working ok... as i normally just use VirtualDubMod..... So how many people are actually using Vista huh?

I have the same problem "Range check error".

When I first upgraded to Vista I was getting an error that was saying it didnt recognise the file format.

I uninstalled and then reinstalled and now I'm getting the exact same error as stated above.

Anyone found a solution to this yet?

No problems here - Vista Home Premium RTM (build 6000), AutoGK 2.40 standard install.

I'm re-encoding AVIs, not DVD sources FYI.

Using home premium as well. And I use autogk both for avi and dvd sources without problems.

I'm using Vista Home Premium. How do I tell what build?

My Auto GK is 2.40.

I have not been able to get Auto GK working under Vista either and get the 'Range Exception' no matter what.

After reading old threads reporting the problem I thought it was the order I had loaded software / codecs etc. However, no amount of unloading / reloading solved it.

Eventually I gave in and wiped the PC and installed Windows XP, JUST so I could use Auto GK which now works fine.

Unfortunately Vista is gone so I can't get the build number but it was the Home Premium edition.
