Re-Encode

I have an AVI file that is encoded with AC3 6 channel. I want to make it mp3 2 channel

The simplest way is probably to use VirtualDubMOD...

I looked, but didnt see any audio options for that. I saw where the video codecs are though.

Streams>>Stream List.

Then right click on the audio stream and select "Compression"

Ok, when i do that and try to save it, it says

"error: no audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format"

I assume that means i need an ac3 codec?
