i have an mkv mp4 video that contains DTS audio. is there anyway i can demux the dts audio stream to use later with an authoring tool?
if not, is there anyway i can convert it to ac3 DD 5.1?
or better yet, is there anyway i can simply change the container to mp4 so it will play on my ps3?

MKVtoolnix (http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/downloads.html) + MKVExtractGUI (http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=MKVExtractGUI)

now that i don't have an authoring program that supports dts, i converted it to ac3 with dts2ac3. now i need something to remux the ac3 with the mkv video.

MP4 doesn´t support either DTS nor AC3.
MKV supports DTS, you can mux the video with the audio with MKVToolnix.

thanks.
i have another problem though. i have a dts file, but i have no authoring program that supports dts.
the first thing i want to try, if possible, is to convert the mkv file to DVD, then somehow add the .dts file to the dvd. or, is is there any simple way to convert dts to ac3? i tried dts2ac3, and it worked, but the output was not complete. the file was only 1h long, whereas the movie is nearly 3 hours long.

MuxMan (http://www.mpucoder.com/Muxman/versions.shtml) or IfoEdit (http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=IfoEdit) have support for DTS.
