I switched from Flask to FU for my ripping needs a few months ago. I've recently discovered that I can't convert my avis to VCDs (using tmpge) with FU's output. I'm assuming this is due to FU's internal encoder. Do I have to re-encode (w/ V'Dub, et al) to another codec (any maybe get worse video) or is there something else I can try for a straight conversion to mpeg1 vcd. TIA:confused:

Thanks O'Lord (damn, never thought I'd ever utter that word), I'll try it with my next rip. But right now I'm looking for a solution that'll allow me to convert already ripped avi's into vcd compliant mpegs.

kidrip,

I have no problem converting FairUse created AVI's using TMPGEnc to VCD, SVCD, or XVCD. Maybe it's the codec you have installed to watch you DivX. Did you install version 3 or version 4?

I currenlty have 3a installed and opening the AVI's in TMPGEnc is no problem.

I currently have DivX 4 installed. I didn't notice the problem until someone from a.b.m.d pointed it out. I guess that guy must also have ver 4 installed.
