Hi,

I have a big problem with creating a backup of the German Castle in the Sky (Das Schloss im Himmel). The creation of the iso file fails, it's just 0 byte. When I try to play the backup out of DVDFILES folder VLC crashes. ImgBurn says when trying to burn the files:

Fix VTS Sectors Failed!
Reason: VTS_01_0.ifo is not a valid IFO file.

The original rip plays fine and ImgBurn does not show an error.

Does it work with v1.22? I'd just like to know if it is something new. Also, you might try adding this line to the "[Options]" are of REBUILDER.INI and see if it makes a difference.

DISABLE_COMMAND_REFERENCE_CHECK=1

It disables some of the new code that was added in v1.23.

Ok, I'll try it.

@rumbah

Hi!

Does this DVD contain THREE VTS_01_1.VOB files? If so, see the following thread:

Ok, I tested with 1.22 and that backup worked without a problem.

I'm just running 1.23 with DISABLE_COMMAND_REFERENCE_CHECK=1 and let you know if it works then.

Does this DVD contain THREE VTS_01_1.VOB files?
Yes, the DVD is protected that way but it worked without a problem with RipIt4You and as I said, the rip works fine with VLC (and mpc).

To the best of my knowledge, "RipIt4me" is not presently able to perform a "clean" rip of that particular (possibly in violation of DVD standards) protection scheme (which also includes corrupt .IFOs).

If I am correct, while your rip may play from your hard drive when using VLC, that does not assure that the rip is fully compliant or processible by DVD Rebuilder.

If you'd care to, as a simple test, try processing your rip with DVD Shrink - to see if DVD Shrink also generates an error message...

As said in my previous post, DVD-RB 1.22 works, it's just 1.23 that fails.

And DVD-Shrink works without a problem, too.

So RipIt4me seems to work with this disc.

@setarip_old - actually RipIt4Me does Silent Hill (Germany) OK. This one must be similar to that.

Now done with 1.23 and DISABLE_COMMAND_REFERENCE_CHECK=1 and it works. So it seems that the new stuff breaks something.

Can you send me the IFO files for the original disc? Please send it to dvd-rb@dvd-rb.com. That way I can see what is odd about it.

I'm getting the same problem with DVD RB-Pro 1.23.1 !
This time with The Matador DVD (PAL 4-2) , when outputing to ISO.
Structure of DVD is not intact.

VTS_01_0.ifo is not a valid IFO file.

There appears to have been an ISO write error.
- ISO Image WAS NOT successfully created.

Going to Roll back to 1.22 (See how it Goes)

Could you send me the original IFO files? I can't fix it if I can't repeat it. I need to know what is different in either of these two titles.
