Hello, I downloaded DVD2SVCD and have found it very useful. However, I am wondering if its possible to use this to also convert a DVD to an AVI file.

I see a "DVD 2 AVI" tab in this screenshot of the program, but I don't seem to have this tab in my version of the program (1.2.3 build 1).

Has this feature been removed? If so, is there another way to use this program to convert to AVI? Thank you for your help.

Attached is the screenshot.

DVD2SVCD doesn't and never has supported AVI output.

In the screenshot, the DVD2AVI tab refers to a program of that name used for one of the stages in the backup process. Development ceased on the program DVD2AVI, following which it was largely rewritten by Donald Graft and renamed DGIndex.

So where old versions of DVD2SVCD used DVD2AVI, newer versions use DGIndex.

None of it ever had anything to do with making AVI's from DVD's using DVD2SVCD. This isn't, and never has been, possible. There are, however, many softwares that can do this - see the guides on the main Doom9 site for details.

Hope this makes sense.

Yes, I see now. Thank you for clearing that up for me. I was under the mistaken impression that this included one of the particular tools I was looking for. I will check out the guides you mentioned. :)
