Hello, love these forums.
I just demuxed "office space" and want to find a good ac3 editor to mute out some bad words (wife is a fanatic). Does anyone know any good ac3 editors; and if not, does anyone know of any good ac3 to wav converters and wav editors?
phew. I know it's a lot to ask for.
Also, after I've done this, what's a good program to splice the sound back to the video?
Thanks!

Wow, this is a shocking development.
NOBODY has a favorite AC3 editor?
NOBODY has a favorite ac3 to wav converters?
NOBODY has a favorite wav editor?
I'm not asking for someone to code something for me, I'm just looking for some very simple input. :|

Hi!anyone know of any good ac3 to wav converters and wav editors?Audacity (freeware), BeLight GUI for BeSweet(freeware), GoldWave (commercial) and a simple Googlesearch should yield myriad other audio editors capable of performing the conversion...

That's not the reason. You should have posted your question to the Audio section.
There's no audio editor that edits AC3 directly.
Converting (or downmixing) from AC3 to WAV can be done with many different apps, such as Besweet (and GUI), Tranzcode, ffmpeg, Foobar, etc. Hopefully, your WAV won't up over 2GB in size (not a huge deal, but can make for a difficult conversion back to AC3). You can edit the WAV with Audacity, probably better to silence the swearing segment rather than putting a beep on it. Make sure you don't change the length of your file-otherwise, you'll have sync issues.

I'm new, I apologize. I thought I had found the right section.

Excellant, thanks!
I didn't mean to sound rude, just a little surprised nobody had any comments.

Just another thought.. do any of those apps convert it back to AC3 when I'm done? I've got Ac3Tool but it doesn't have that option unfortunately.

do any of those apps convert it back to AC3 when I'm done? The BeLight GUI with BeSweet can do that but, from what I've "heard", I believe the newer program "Aften" can do a better job...
