Wasn't sure if it would have been better to post this in the newbie section, so plz move it if it's better placed there. :)
MeGui offers three options to do a stereo to 5.1 upmix.
1. via SuperEQ
2. via Sox
3. with center channel dialog
As far as I understood, 1.&2. basicly do the same thing:
They use an equalizer (Super EX or Sox) with some preset configuration to do the upmix. So far so good. Comparing 1&2, 1 normally gives the better results but takes more time in analyzing and rearranging the audio.
Is this right so far?
---
As far as I unterstood, 3. tries to filter the dialogs out of the stereo signal and puts them in the center channel.
But how is this compared to option 1&2 quality wise?
Which option should one choose 1., 2. or 3. ?
:thanks:
Cu Selur
Ps.: Plz, don't post about the usefulness of such an upmix in general. thx. (I did try to find an answer through the search, but didn't find anything useful, but this might be because of my lack of understanding the whole audio thing. :) )
