Well I decided to splash out on a Toshiba HD DVD Player having heard the problems experienced with the XBox player via PC solution. Found one on line for £300 free delivery which can't be bad!
Playback on this as follows
HD DVD originals = AWSOME
HD DVD backups = Don't know, no burners around yet!
DVD originals = Very good and beats my £400 Denon player on 1180p, no playback issues
DVD SL Backups = Very good and no playback issues as yet
DVD DL Backups = Plays OK but will not scan forwards or backwards
The later problem is most annoying especially when they play fine on my Denon player. The backup is properly authored with some vobblanking carried out to remove adverts. I did an Ifoedit correct VTS sectors just to make sure.
Ideas anyone?
