I have searched here and gooled but i'm having difficulty locating a tool to get HR xvid or H246 to play on my standalone that supports only normal res xvid/divx/avi.
If you could direct me to any tool that does this and if possible any tips/guides I would greatly appreciated.:thanks:
I have used mp3_freeze and virtualdub to remove QPEL/GMC from problem files so although not a complete new i am on these newer codecs.

That would be a breach of rule 6.

Youve lost me a bit there.
Rule 6 states:-
6) No warez, cracks, serials or illegally obtained copyrighted content! Links to content of a questionable nature, asking for, offering, or asking for help/helping to process such content in any way or form is not tolerated.
How is asking if there are any tools , by that I mean the likes of mpeg4modifier etc that are freeware/opensource. So im asking for help converting from one codec to another with opensource/freeware apps. When I stated direct me to I meant along the likes of 'use 'app' it does this and here's a guide <link to webpage for guide>'. Plus I do also have Retail versions of TMPGXpress and others that I have purchased.
Not trying to be difficult but your comment is presumptious and unfounded. Unless like you I have been presumptious in my interpretation of your brief comment:rolleyes:

helping to process such content in any way or form is not tolerated
You asked for help with re-encoding HR and 720p releases. Providing help to do so would breach rule 6.

You are doing it again:rolleyes:
Let me assume you are referring to the plethora of ilegal downloads that are HR res and twice the size of normal xvid resolution downloads. Why would I download something that is twice the size of the normal res xvid when as said there are plenty of normal res xvids about.
I have and will continue to have an interest in encoding from one format to another, it is as simple as that. I always use my standalone to check out the reencodes as anything will play in my PC.
Anyway I sure if anyone was thinking of replying they certainly wont do now for fear of any potential comeback from self-appointed policemen.
Please forgive me for thinking that the forum may be a place to help members and receive help.
