Hi, I have a movie in two languages (German and Hungarian)
and would like to make it a DVD. In the very beginning (< 30 s)
the movie title is shown in German and in Hungarian
(two different versions). Now I wold like to show the German
intro when German language is selected, and the Hungarian intro
when Hungarian Language is selected).

To do this I decided to do it by seamless branching (for poor).
I devided the whole thing into three parts
A intro Hungarian (music only)
B intro German (music only)
C actual movie (two audio languages)
Next I joined those parts into one movie containing A,B,C

I authored it in DVDlab Pro, prepared some menus,...
-> one PGC

Next I opened the result in DVDRemake Pro, created two new
PGCs which reuse the cells of the alerady existing PGC

PGC1 A,B,C Dummy PGC, contains real cells
PGC2 A,C reused cells, video Hungarian
PGC2 B,C reused cells, video German

Changed the menu links, automatically select the correct
audio language. Done. Works as expected.

The only thing is that in PGC2 the transition from A to C
is not as smooth as expected. But since here the actual
film starts I could add some black frames and silence
without any problem.

Now my questions: Where should I add those black frames,
at the end of A and B or at the beginning of C? Or both?
And how many frames, one full GOP or more?

If anyone could give me some advice please.

I don't really understand why you want to add black frames.

Your A -> C transition is not as smooth as B -> C because the A & C cells are not next to each other physically on your DVD. This is because you imported the cells in the A, B, C order. So B & C are next to each other so they can be played seamlessly.

But the easiest way would have been to put your german version on angle 1 and your hungarian intro version on angle 2. then linking your intros to the movie.

Unfortunately A ist 795 frames long, but B only 195 frames.
So multiangle is not really an option :-(

I wish to add some black frames to A (together with silence)
to make the transition from A to C *look* smooth. The video
transition looks smooth already. However in the audio there is
small gap. Some additional silence should solve that.

I guess I have to determine the number of additional frames
myself by trial and error.

hum i see. You'll then have to try several settings for your black length.
