Sorry, you'll have to excuse my n00bishness; I'm new to this. In any case, I've got an avi that I want to burn to a dvd in order to watch it on a dvd player. What should I convert it to in order to maximize the chance that the player will be able to read it/What program should I use to convert it?
Thanks

Hi!
Many newer standalone DVD players have the ability to playback some, if not all, .AVI videos. If you have such a player, you simply have to burn the file as a "Data DVD". Did you create the file as an XviD-compressed .AVI or a DivX-compressed .AVI? If XviD, did you utilize QPEL, or other "out of the ordinary" factors?

I think your maximized chance is: Convert these avi files to DVD format so that all DVD players are available to play them
:)
You can use AVI to DVD converter to Convert and burn your avi files as DVD format directly

Don't get suckered into paying $30 for something FAVC can do much better.
fredzhu, 2/3 of your posts have linked to commercial software, which this board doesn't appreciate, unless they're indisputably better than what's available free, especially if it looks like you're making money off the links. If this keeps up, you'll be branded a spammer and kicked out.
