Hi all,

Can we convert MP3 format to DVD-Audio format? How?
Will the audio quality be reduce?

I read some threads and I believed we could rip DVD-audio and convert to MP3, how's the sound quality?

Anyone please advise. Thanks.

Wishing all a very happy new year, good health and safety.

Cheers.

Homemade DVD-Audio would be very hard to do since the format is just emerging. If it helps, all I know is it uses a lossless compressor called MLP which can be licensed here (http://www.meridian-audio.com/m_mlp_in.htm), and that the files are placed in an AUDIO_TS folder. Take it from there. Since it's lossless there's no quality loss when creating from mp3.

As for the opposite conversion, DVD-A to mp3, I don't know if it's possible since they integrated some new security features which will take a while to crack since DVD-A is still rare. You can always record through your sound card (analog). Really mp3 will squash whatever gain in sound quality you can get out of DVD-A as opposed to CD-A.
