Can anyone tell me which guide I should be following if I actually want to strip out scenes from the middle of DVD film. For example I want to strip out nudity scenes from a film, and scenes of violence. Thanks.

Try "Avidemux", just tried it and it works. Simply set the start and end point and cut/stripp using ctrl + X from the edit menu, save the output file as mpegPS, later author the output file using Quenc's Author DVD option if u wish to burn the edited movie onto DVD. This tool Avidemux is not perfect may be there are other tools, wait for others to suggest some nice one, but atleast give this a try.

These 2 commercial tools do a great job and do not have to recode the video so they are very fast and audio stays in sync.

Also DVDShrink is able to to this in re-author mode (though you can only select the parts you want, effectively you can achieve the same result). If the video doesn't need re-encoding/transcoding it's fast

Thanks jfcarbel Videoredo is great and flawless. Womble was also good. Videoredo did better than all other tools i have tried in the past to cutt off scenes from movie. I was looking for something like this. :thanks:

Videoredo did better than all other tools i have tried in the past...Yeah it's a wonderful program--I especially like the audio waveform to show me where to make silent, glitch-free cuts.
Another tip: from VideoReDo, if you output as Elementary Streams, you can use MuxMan to make a VIDEO_TS in no time at all.
