Convert PAL to NTSC

I have a PAL DVD that I would like to convert to a NTSC Region 1. I purchased it through a California outlet and did not know that it was PAL 0. I would like to retain all subtitles and menus. Can someone please supply me with some tips on how to do this? I have tried NERO, but it didn't work. Thanks in advance for any help you provide.

I was in your situation a year or two ago, with a season of 24 that I bought on Ebay from the UK. Basically, it's a big deal to convert it correctly, and unless you're really into this stuff, you probably don't want to spend hours and hours doing it. Some DVD players, I think a lot of Samsungs will do it, they play both NTSC and PAL. They basically convert it, and it still looks pretty good.
